Dave Edwards William Blake was onto the DIY cottage industry / multimedia / self publishing / underground arts game over 200 years ago, and developed his own 'pseudo arcana' mythology... great choice of patron saint!
Favorite track: The Proverbs of Hell.

about

Probably the weirdest album ever released on PseudoArcana. Keri had the idea of doing a setting of William Blake's esoteric pamphlet to music. As a fan of Blake's mysticism and his DIY attitude to art and printing etc who was I to say no? So started this epic project that ballooned even further for myself when I decided to hand copy the entire book copying as exactly as I could the handwriting and drawing of Blake himself. The final package featured this handcopied book as a colouring in book with a set of paints and of course a CDR of the music.
Musically it is all over the place. Frankly some of it is unlistenable to me today but there is also the odd amazing track hidden away on this. Keri took the orchestration part of it very seriously and we went so far as to rope in orchestral cello and horn players for one track. On another I ventured down to Lambton Quay- the upmarket shopping street of Wellington- and asked and recorded strangers reading individual lines/sayings from 'The Proverbs of Hell'.
