'Strata' and 'Yet Marvellous Stasis' were two albums that were released in 2003 on the Norwegian Humbug label and Finnish Haamumaa labels respectively. They were both limited edition cdrs and due to their unavailibility PseudoArcana reissued them as a double CDR in 2005.
This download version comes with the artwork from the PseudoArcana reissue and I have written notes on what I can remember about the source and content of each track..
Listening back to these albums now it strikes me how much the A.M project has changed. It was always intended as my experimental project but where as today A.M seems to be experimenting with beat driven and body oriented psychedelic noise in 2003 it was all about spirit. Strangely enough it seems that - at least in a spiritual sense- A.M has become more shallow since I moved away from my experiments with actual psychedelics. (Or perhaps thats not strange at all?)
All in all I find myself listening to these tracks now- only 8 years later- and feeling melancholy due to a sense that the holy fool is dead- youth has flown.
I'm excited by what I'm working on today, and happy with the way things have evolved, but conscious that something foggy and magical has been left behind.
This was a special period and I remain very proud- and even surprised- by these recordings.
